Blame it on Carson Reeves over at Scriptshadow, as I'm currently writing the 1st draft of So Go Back & Get Him. Took him up on a challenge to TRY to write a script in 3 days. Having just started this morning as of 8 a.m. EST, after an initial blast I'm only on page 3 of the 1st draft, working off an outline that is more buoy markers than in-depth pre-writes like I prefer. But it's all in the spirit of fun.
So Go Back & Get Him
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Logline: A morning show host struggles in handling the changing scope of her morning show amidst her raging sexuality in an ever changing love/hate relationship to the men in her life.
The stated goal of the challenge is to try to pound a script in three days. Unfortunately on Sunday I have to start moving stuff from storage to our new garage. Right now those storage costs are $300+ a month. I also just accepted a job. Could have started that today if I insisted, but because of the storage move I pushed that out until Wednesday. Been out of work for a long, long time since Covid hit our family at the end of August so it'll be nice to do something again. Had several jobs I thought I'd get, but they fell through. Been living off savings since then.
Well-p gotta get back to it. Only on page 3 of the 1st draft. Goal will be to do 40+ pages. Don't think I'll get there, but I'm an daring kind of guy, and I'm going to try... Talk to you again soon!
P.S. Just received my first critique back from The Beautiful Kingdom -- from a guy in Ireland, no less!
