(Updated page 1, as of March 10, 2024)
Currently only on page 82/3 of the the 1st draft, but I got bored and started doing some of the Lit Expression for it.
New goal is to have the 1st draft done BEFORE I drive to Nashville on Saturday, December 23 to watch the Seahawks/ Titans game the next day at Nissan Stadium. I should have all my Christmas shopping done -- so long as packages arrive as planned. Still have to wrap them and put up my Christmas tree .
Plan for this week is to beef up the outline, and get some new momentum for finishing the script. Hoping to finish a complete draft by next Tuesday, then edit it a bit, and maybe read it on the drive over to Nashville on Saturday.
Yeah, all that sounds good. Now, I just need to make it happen!
Good morning from northeast Tennessee, Lola!
Thanks for visiting my blog, obviously reading some of it, and taking the time to post a comment.
You're welcome back anytime!
To answer your question; no, I'm not a "published" author. I've tried repeatedly to get publishers interested in my Legend of Thars series, but they only wanna work with CELEBRITIES. Best I could do there was PAY UP FRONT to get enrolled in some program they offered, which I think is pitiful.
Screenplays typically get optioned. But to date none of mine have been PURCHASED so they're not "published".
Over the years I've been on and off sites posting scripts trying to garner interest, but have yet to get that coveted first sale! ISA has the last submission of mine for Dilly of a Duckling's Dally, that was in May of 2023. But like EVERYTHING else I've tried that went nowhere.
It's a bad era for non-celebrities writers. Unless you "know someone" you are fucked; it's just a vicious cycle of being led around to some program that you have to pay for -- that still doesn't yield what a writer wants! Outright sale of a novel or screenplay is where its at; the gold at the end of the rainbow.
There's a lotta bullshit in this industry. Making matters worse is the fact that the movie-making industry is in decline. It was hard enough to break in when times were good. Now that times are bad, it's even that much harder.
Hopefully in 2024 I'll get my act together and self-publish my Legend of Thars series. That's been and on-and-off again affiar of mine since the early 1990s.

Quick question: As a writer are you published anywhere else?
