Noni,

I LOVE Taylor Swift. I think she is the coolest celebrity the world has right now, and one that is worth celebrating.

I don't get into other people politics UNLESS they make it so you have no other choice but to do so. Back during the 2020 election cycle I saw a picture where she baked Biden/Harris cookies, and I've read that she's a Biden supporter.

I have never had a conversation with Taylor Swift so how could I possibly judge her the way you're inferring.

Others may divide people along political lines, I do not. My art is open to all -- as I feel art should be.

If Taylor Swift ever wants to work with me, that would be a dream come true. I tried in years past to make that happen, and got nowhere with it. What I've come to have hammered into my head is the truth that famous people only wanna work with other famous people. They stay in their own circles and are insulated HEAVILY from people like me.

Noni

With your apolitical stance in mind, would you be disappointed if Taylor Swift came out in support of the Democrats?

E.C. Henry

Good morning, Noni! Nice to see you back here again.

As an entertainer I'm not a political person. Whatever you believe, I'm not going to shame you for it.

I don't think we'll have an honest election later this year, so I'm sure whoever the Democratic nominee ends up being, that's who will be leading the U.S. I plan on voting, but just for conscious sake. The real answer is to have verified voters counted off voting roles by poll workers, and same night reporting. An honest election isn't hard to have, it's just the Democrat party would rather have a corrupt system.

Noni

If it's any consolation, Donald Trump is leading in the polls. He's clearly the sharper candidate.

Do you really think Biden could take the election again?

E.C. Henry

The Eagles > Velvet Underground, Noni.

These days I listen to a lot of Charity Gayle. I love high worship of the Lord Jesus Christ. You Have Made Me Glad, Echo (In Jesus Name), and I Speak Jesus; are my favorite songs right now.

Are you ready for the rapture, Noni?

Someday Jesus is coming for His bride. Be ready when the trumpet calls, this world is going to hell in handbasket thanks to the U.S. Democrat party.

Noni

If you're a Taylor Swift fan, do you prefer The Eagles or The Velvet Underground?

Keep in mind that Lou Reed was merely engaged in self-destruction, while Don Henley did some truly heinous stuff to others.

Pylon

No worries brother! I cant blame you for not clicking links. I clicked on one in the comments section of your blog and it was a gif of what looked like a real suicide. Shocking stuff!!

E.C. Henry

Pylon. Really NOT interested in Warren Zevon. You're the one who brought this person up, not me.

Also, I don't follow ANY links that people post on my site in case it's a virus or something of that sort. So just state what's of merit and I'll look into it if I'm interested in it.

Warren Zevon is nobody. I'm really not into researching him out. You should TRY to remain topical and focus on Taylor Swift who is worthy of discussion unlike that other musician you brought up. What was her name? See, already in the rearview and forgotten.

Pylon

Try this Warren Zevon song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehYvseT27c4

If you don't like it, Ill drop it. Simply let me know what you think. Think it'd make a rollicking needle drop. Good bad or ugly haha

E.C. Henry

Had to look up Warren Zevon to know who he was. YES, I've heard the song "Werewolves of London" before. It never made much of an impression on me. Warren Zevon had a totally under the radar career. May or may not look him further. He really does't seem that interesting to me, Pylon.

Night of the Otterroid is in the books! #done Will try to do a blog post later. Gotta lotta yard work to do!

Pylon

If you don't like REM, you definitely still like Warren Zevon, right? Especially cause your writing a creature feature.

E.C. Henry

Pylon, if you're that into that group -- you're in the WRONG PLACE. REM sucks, imo; and totally unworthy of any amount of discussion. If you're that into them, find others that are too.

I'm a Taylor Swift fan. A Swiftie through and through. This post was meant to honor her. Disgracing her thorough discussion of a CRAP GROUP that wasn't even that popular when their music was first coming out, ain't gunna happen on my watch.

Taylor Swift to the moon and back!

Pylon

Oh man I love REM!!! When are you doing THAT blog writ-up? Your top 10 could break the internet (GOOD THING)

Kate

Sorry, "Motion Sickness" is by Phoebe Bridgers. My mistake! Thought it was Taylor Swift for some reason.

Still a good song, if you're looking for more soundtrack material: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sfYpolGCu8

E.C. Henry

Good morning, Kate!

Couldn't find the T.S. song, "Motion Sickness" you sited. Anything REM related get thrown out the window and dubbed unimportant by me so if you persist down that road you'll be doing so with someone else.

Still, there are so many GREAT Taylor Swift songs out there it's hard to pick just one. Looking forward to seen what her new album is like in April. Love that girl so much. She is such a fun artist.

Kate

Favorite Taylor Swift song: "Motion Sickness"

Favorite R.E.M. song: "Country Feedback"

What do you think of my picks?

E.C. Henry

Good morning Kate!

Thanks for reading this post and taking the time to get involved in the lively conversation.

Earlier commenters brought up REM. I could care less about them. HUGE fan of Taylor Swift, however.

Really looking forward to her NEW ALBUM coming out in April. Since I've bought merchandise from her online store I got some e-mails promoting pre-sales of her upcoming album. Cover sure looks risque. Great to see after all these years MY FAVORITE ARTIST continues to push the bounds of pop music.

What's your favorite, Taylor Swift song, Kate?

Kate

I'm having a hard time following this comment section.

I like Taylor Swift and I like R.E.M.

According to the New York Times, Swift and R.E.M. leader singer Michael Stipe are mutual fans.

I think that's cool.

E.C. Henry

Thanks for taking the time to post here, Hyde.

Who cares what Rolling Stones thinks? It's a worthless magazine. All it was ever good for was bringing recognition to emerging musicians back when there were good, emerging musicians worth listening too.

Taylor Swift and R.E.M shouldn't even be in the same sentence together.

T.S. >>> R.E.M.

Check and check, Erica!

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog and leave a comment, you're welcome back anytime.

Erica

"Phenominal" spelling. Or is spelling "overrrated?"

E.C. Henry

R.E.M can't hold a candle to either Taylor Swift or Janet Jackson. When an R.E.M. song comes on the radio, I change the station. Yeah, they're THAT bad.

Janet Jackson's had a great run in the late 80s to the beginning of the 90s, Taylor Swift has actually had a stronger career for a longer period of time than Janet Jackson had. Both are phenomenal performers who don't disappoint. Same can't be said for R.E.M., who is one of the most overrated musical acts of all-time.

George

You'll find all three names on this list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_music_artists

Taylor Swift, Janet Jackson, and R.E.M. are all among the highest selling artists of all time.

Just sayin'...

E.C. Henry

No, Steve, you've got it all wrong.

Taylor Swift >>>>>>>>> (wimpy) REM (who wasn't even very popular at the peak of their popularity.

REM can't hold a candle to Taylor Swift. She 1000 X the performer than those HACKS from the late 80s and early 90s.

I'm not a fan of most modern music, but I am a HUGE fan of Taylor Allison Swift. So don't come in with weak-water comparisons. Rather, compare T.S. to REAL PERFORMERS like Janet Jackson!
